Social media for 18+ ?

In the 21th century nearly every teenager use social media like Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. But some scientists or adults think it should only for people being 18 or over 18 years old. In the following text I tell you my opinion to this topic.
I think it should be 18+, because kids and teenagers are not very responsible to private data. They give for example facts above theirselves and the whole world can see it. Because of the irresponsibility they post wrong pictures and so others cyberbully them (see my last blog). Another risk is if they give wrong comments or post embarrassing pictures it's in the internet for all the time, you can't delete it. So you maybe find no job easily, only because of the irresponsibility at a young age.
So that's why I think social media should be 18+. But I still think that you can't bring this through because all the kids and teens would cheat their age and you cannot control them.

Amanda Todd - hardest example of cyberbullying

The world is going to be digital more and more. So for example facebook, the largest social media company of the world is founded in 2004 and have already more than 1,5 billion users. That means that these people have their own cyber identity and put their whole life online. So you can't avoid cyberbullying. That this is a very hard thing proves Amanda Todd. Because of cyberbullying she killes herself. She made a suicide video in where the atmosphere very sad and quiet was, because she shows her life and bully experiences on cards. After watching I was shocked. Especially why somebody bully her such hard that she killed herself. Why nobody helped her? Why nobody called the police? If somebody did this she maybe would live today. I think the people who bully people anonym in the internet have many problems in the real world, so they escape to the digital world where they can do what they want. And Amanda Todd had to pay with her life, that's the scary thing! So give a potential bully no chance and don't post pics like Amanda Todd had!

The Circle

Today I discuss whether"The Circle" should be real life or not. "The Circle" is a programm in which you can vote or post something or find out about the history about Familys etc. On the one hand it is a great thing to vote online and to post something with yor own mini camera via satellite. But on the other hand you dont have privacy, because everybody can see you. Also bad people or stalker. The program is also hackable. So when you hack "The Circle" you have personal datas from all the People who sign in - that is the whole world.
So I think "The Circle" is a bad thing, because you have no privacy anymore and how good the firewalls are - everything is hackable.

The evolution of communication

This Cartoon shows the evolution of communication. There are five men. The first one is a man who lives in the stone age and writes on a stoneboard. The next two are showing the normal Evolution of media. But then with the email the people are getting stupid and this is a step backwards in the evolution. And the last step when everybody use twitter the humans are were they started: In the stone age. In my opinion it is a bit true, because with the new technic everything gets easier and as a result we get lazy. But that is the progress of technology and the most people not use social networks all the time. We also do other things and we also work. So we are not so stupid as the cartoon shows. All in all we should not use social media that often because so we get lazy and addicted, but it is also a good thing to share something and to chat.

I am Tobias and I live in Winnenden, Germany. Ive to write this blog because social media is our new english topic. My favourite subjects are sports, geography and of course english:DD I m very interested in sports and I m playing football in a club. So I m a VFB Stuttgart fan.
